  5. IXI Deskterm is a software tool which can be used to implement Motif front ends
  6. onto existing character-based applications. The software can now run in a
  7. windowed, mouse-driven graphical environment featuring pull-down menus, scroll
  8. bars, pushbuttons, dialogue boxes, re-sizable windows, cut and paste and
  9. multiple fonts and colours. Deskterm reduces the time to market for any X
  10. product and exploits the large pool of existing skills in character-based
  11. programming as no knowledge of X programming is required. A GUI front end can
  12. be added to any character-based application either by simply configuring
  13. directly to work with Deskterm or running a powerful English-like script
  14. language to describe the existing user interactions to the Deskterm system.
